About the Music
The JCB performs different styles of music ranging from classical and jazz selections to popular fair. Often, the music is selected so that it fits into an overall theme. Past JCB performances have featured music from the British and American band traditions, stage and screen classics as well as a Latin and American dance music themed concert.
Throughout rehearsals, Alex Schmauk creates an inviting atmosphere and uses his professional experiences as a performer to coach the JCB to accurately perform the music. As the concert gets closer, Alex focuses on the other aspects of a highly polished performance, such as intonation, balance and interpretation.
It is important to Mr. Schmauk that everyone who participates feels welcome and is accepted for the talents that they bring to the ensemble.
